International Day of Peace:
Who We Yet Might Be --
Rev. Diana Jordan Allende

Old Testament scholar Walter Brueggeman says that at the heart of  the Hebrew scriptures lies an old debate about how the world should be rendered: according to the dictates of power and profit or along the lines of neighborliness. On this UN Peace Day, we’ll reflect on these competing visions and how we can be part of creating a culture  of peace.

After the service, AUUF will have an hour for making pinwheels for peace.

At 4:30 p.m.:
The community is invited by APJ to gather at AUUF and walk with pinwheels and peace signs to Toomers Corner for a peace presence, 5-6:00 p.m.

From 5-6 p.m.:
Peace presence at Toomer's Corner.
